Mysore self practice, guided mindfulness & pranayama

-Friday 6.30-10

-Saturday & Sunday 8-11

Each morning begins with a guided mindfulness meditation and pranayama session, followed by a traditional Mysore-style practice. This longer process allows you to create more awareness, intention and space in your Ashtanga self-practice. It invites new ways to perceive your approach to your existing asana practice, while exploring new postures at your own pace.

Friday 17-19.30

A MINDFUL APPROACH TO ASHTANGA YOGA- Meeting the practice with awareness and care

The heart of yoga is learning how to truly care for ourselves in this body, in this lifetime.

But how do we each approach Ashtanga yoga in relationship to our own lives? Can we begin to see how our practice helps us nurture the breath and the movement awareness we hold so dear?

In this workshop, we’ll explore how mindfulness and yoga come together through both philosophical reflection and embodied experience. We’ll weave breathing and mindfulness techniques into familiar patterns of the Ashtanga practice, discovering how awareness can land us fully in the present moment again and again.

By noticing the ongoing interplay between posture, breath, and mindful attention, we begin to cultivate a more embodied presence, one that supports not only how we move on the mat but how we move through the world.

Saturday 14-17

ASHTANGA YOGA AS EMBODIED MOVEMENT-Practicing Ashtanga with a new lens

In this workshop, we’ll explore how we approach the Ashtanga yoga practice itself, how we meet the subtle relationship between breath and movement, and how becoming more present deepens our awareness of ourselves through physical practice.

We’ll weave together breathing technique, chanting, mindfulness, and movement awareness, noticing the ongoing interplay between these points of focus.

Sunday 12.00-14.00

THE PATTERNS OF ASHTANGA YOGA-Seeing the patterns laid out before us

Building on Saturday’s theme of mindful awareness, this session looks at asana and vinyasa as interconnected patterns of movement and awareness. We’ll explore how each posture relates to the next, and how care and attention can deepen our understanding of movement through the postures and series.

By observing the relationships that underpin the forms of the practice, we begin to feel a greater sense of connection to the asanas, to the flow of vinyasa, and to the living rhythm of Ashtanga yoga itself.
